Prime Minister Imran Khan has spoken about the ideal of the Islamic welfare state (Riyasat-e-Madina) in nearly every speech he has made in the last 18 months. While addressing the International Rehmatul-lil-Alameen (PBUH) Conference last month, he reaffirmed his government’s resolve to establish an Islamic welfare state on the model of Madina.
